Nestled in the hills of Kakani Rural Municipality, near the waste dumping site of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Mukundeshwari Secondary School stands as a symbol of resilience, hope, and determination. Despite being located in a challenging environment, the school continues to provide quality education to children from various indigenous communities of Nepal, many of whom come from economically vulnerable families whose primary source of livelihood is agriculture.
For these children, education is more than just learning inside a classroom it is a pathway toward a better future. Yet, even the simple act of attending school becomes difficult during the harsh winter months. Cold weather, limited resources, and financial hardships force many children to stay home because their families cannot afford warm clothing every year. Behind every absence is a child who wants to learn but is held back by circumstances beyond their control.
In 2023, during interactions with school representatives, teachers, parents, and community members, WorldLink CSR witnessed this reality firsthand. Many students were attending school in thin clothes during extreme cold, while others stopped coming altogether during winter. The stories shared by families reflected the silent struggles faced by communities living in marginalized areas, where parents work tirelessly to provide basic necessities, yet still find it difficult to meet every need of their children.
Recognizing that no child should have to choose between health and education, WorldLink Communications, stepped forward with a commitment to support these young learners. In response to the urgent need, winter sweaters were distributed to 410 students, helping them stay warm, healthy, and connected to their education during the cold season. What may seem like a simple sweater became something much more meaningful a source of comfort, confidence, and encouragement for children who deserved the opportunity to continue learning without interruption.
But for WorldLink, this was never intended to be a one-time contribution.
The connection built with Mukundeshwari Secondary School and its community became a reminder that meaningful social impact requires continuity, compassion, and long-term commitment. The school’s dedication to educating children despite geographical, economic, and social challenges deeply inspired the team. Even in difficult circumstances, teachers continue to show up every day with the belief that education can transform lives, while students continue to walk to school carrying dreams bigger than the challenges surrounding them.
Continuing this journey of support, on December 5, 2025, WorldLink CSR received another proposal from the school to assist children once again during winter. Understanding that the need still existed, WorldLink extended its support further by planning the distribution of winter sweaters to 267 students, ranging from Early Childhood Development (ECD) level up to the age of 14.
This continued initiative reflects WorldLink’s belief that corporate social responsibility is not only about donations it is about standing beside communities consistently, listening to their needs, and creating lasting impact where it matters most. Every child deserves the warmth, dignity, and opportunity to learn in a safe and supportive environment, regardless of where they come from or the hardships they face.
Through initiatives like these, WorldLink remains committed to supporting schools and communities that continue to nurture hope against all odds. Mukundeshwari Secondary School is more than just a school in a remote and challenging location; it is a place where dreams continue to grow despite adversity. And as those children continue their educational journey, WorldLink will continue striving to ensure that they are not left behind because of circumstances they cannot control.
