High in the remote hills of Darchula, where opportunities are limited and resources are scarce, we discovered something far more powerful than infrastructure or technology.
We discovered hope.
Not the kind of hope that waits quietly, but hope built with imagination, courage, and determination.
Through i-Lab, an initiative conducted in collaboration with Engineers Without Borders Nepal (EWBN), the CSR team of WorldLink Communications Ltd. set out with a meaningful vision: to nurture an entrepreneurial mindset among children and encourage them to believe that they can build opportunities within Nepal, rather than feeling forced to leave their homeland in search of a future.
Because we believe the future of Nepal does not lie only in cities or abroad. It lies within the ideas, creativity, and potential of its young people, even in the most remote villages hidden among the hills.
Our journey to Darchula was not easy. The trails were rugged, the paths steep, and the travel exhausting. But every step toward i-Jatra became a reminder of why this mission matters. When we finally arrived, what we witnessed moved us deeply.
Students stood proudly beside the creations they had imagined, designed, and built with their own hands. They showcased their ideas with excitement and confidence, presenting models that reflected not only creativity, but problem-solving, innovation, and vision.
Among them was a suspension bridge model crafted from simple strings a beautiful symbol proving that innovation does not depend on expensive resources, but on the courage to imagine differently.
What made the experience truly unforgettable was not just the projects themselves, but the children behind them.
Each student waited patiently and eagerly to share their ideas, carrying with them stories, dreams, and hopes for a better future. Our CSR Director listened to every child with pride and encouragement, creating a space where their voices felt heard and valued.
And in those moments, we saw the Nepal we dream of building.
A Nepal where:
- Children speak with confidence
- Young minds dare to innovate
- Creativity is celebrated regardless of geography
- And every child feels empowered to dream beyond limitations
In their voices, we heard confidence. In their eyes, we saw hope. And in their smiles, we witnessed joy that no hardship could silence. We traveled to Darchula to see the impact of a project. But what we truly found were dreams waiting to bloom.
These children reminded us that talent exists everywhere, opportunity does not. And when we choose to nurture young minds, encourage creativity, and invest in education and innovation, transformation begins naturally.
An empowered Nepal requires all of us to believe in its youth.
Because no child’s future should be limited by how remote their village is. Every child deserves the chance to shine. Every dream deserves the chance to grow. And sometimes, all it takes is someone willing to believe in them first.
