WorldLink CSR’s iLab: Igniting the Spirit of Innovation in Rural Classrooms
In the quiet corners of Nepal’s rural hills, where resources are limited but dreams run deep, a new kind of classroom is emerging—one not defined by chalk and rote memorization, but by imagination, collaboration, and purpose.
At WorldLink CSR, we believe education is not just about teaching facts; it’s about unlocking human potential. It is the bridge between where a child is born and where they dream of going. In a rapidly evolving world, we must nurture not only knowledge, but the courage to question, create, and lead.
With this belief at its heart, we partnered with Engineers Without Borders Nepal (EWBN) to launch the Innovation Lab (iLab)—a transformative initiative that reimagines education for the 21st century. More than a project, iLab is a movement—from chalkboards to circuit boards, from passive learning to empowered problem-solving.
First piloted at Shri Shringery Community Secondary School, the success of iLab inspired its first full-scale implementation at Malikarjun Model Secondary School in Dhap-7, Darchula and Nepal Rastriya Secondary School, Simara. These are not just schools; they are now hubs of innovation in places where opportunity is often hard-won.
At the heart of iLab is the Makers Space—a vibrant, hands-on environment where students explore electronics, robotics, design thinking, and beyond. Through the Innovation Acceleration Program (IAP) and student-led platforms like iClub and iJatra, learners are not just solving hypothetical problems—they are building real solutions for their own communities.
From water filtration systems to energy-efficient models, these young minds are tackling local challenges with global tools. And in doing so, they’re discovering something far more powerful than any textbook could teach: belief in their own ability to shape the future.
iLab doesn’t just teach skills. It plants seeds of self-reliance, resilience, and creativity. It connects students with educators, researchers, and entrepreneurs—creating a powerful network of changemakers in even the most remote regions of Nepal.
Today, the students of Shri Shringery, Malikarjun and Nepal Rastriya Secondary Schools are no longer waiting to be offered opportunities—they’re creating them. They are not just preparing for jobs; they are preparing to lead. To transform their communities. To inspire others.
Through iLab, WorldLink CSR is investing in more than just education. We are investing in dreams, in innovation rooted in community, and in the next generation of leaders who will carry Nepal into a brighter, more inclusive, and self-sustaining future.
Because the next great idea, the next breakthrough, the next changemaker—might just be sitting in a classroom in Darchula, soldering a circuit and daring to believe.
